This week, I&#8217;d like to share my prescription for healthy living.<\/p>\n<p>These six, effective tips for energy and wellness are simple to incorporate\u00a0and sustainable, no matter the weather. Adapted from Dr. Oz and sprinkled with my own protocols, these are scientifically validated ways to build a strong foundation for health and vitality.<\/p>\n<p>1.<strong> Get physical!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/energylifesciences.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Aerin-Miles-4316.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-11315 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/energylifesciences.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Aerin-Miles-4316-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Aerin-Miles-4316\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>There&#8217;s no better time than now, with the longer summer days making so many of us feel like we want to get out and play. Recommendations:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Daily<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u223c\u00a0Take 10,000 steps a day (30 minutes of walking is about 3,000 steps)<br \/>\n\u223c\u00a0Stretch for five minutes a day to increase or maintain your flexibility<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weekly<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u223c\u00a0Do an activity that increases your heart rate for 60 minutes a week<br \/>\n\u223c\u00a0Engage in a strength building exercise for 30 minutes each week<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2.<strong> Five foods to add\u00a0<\/strong>to your diet (allergies and sensitivities permitting):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tomatoes<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-11326 \" src=\"https:\/\/energylifesciences.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/Blueberry_close_up-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"Blueberry_close_up\" width=\"227\" height=\"153\" \/>Broccoli<\/li>\n<li>Blueberries<\/li>\n<li>Artichokes<\/li>\n<li>Beans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>3. Avoid<strong> these five ingredients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High fructose corn syrup<\/li>\n<li>Sugar<\/li>\n<li>Enriched flour<\/li>\n<li>Trans-fat (partially hydrogenated oil)<\/li>\n<li>Saturated animal fat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4<strong>. Fiber is <\/strong>fabulous<strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>Aim for 25 grams a day.<\/p>\n<p>5.<strong> Omega-3&#8217;s rule<\/strong>. Omega-3 fatty acids have been proven to help reduce inflammation throughout the body and more.\u00a0Good sources include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flax seeds<\/li>\n<li>Salmon<\/li>\n<li>Walnuts<\/li>\n<li>Scallops<\/li>\n<li>Squash<\/li>\n<li>Soy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6<strong>. Olive oil is &#8220;Youth in a Bottle,&#8221;<\/strong>says Dr. Oz, and I agree. Just one tablespoon a day is all you need to enjoy its benefits.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/energylifesciences.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/olive-oil-356102-640.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-11331 \" src=\"https:\/\/energylifesciences.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/olive-oil-356102-640-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"olive-oil-356102-640\" width=\"230\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a>In addition to those six tips, there are special things to consider to make sure you stay healthy at every stage of life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Throughout Adulthood:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have an annual physical<br \/>\nGet an eye exam every two years<br \/>\nGo to the dentist every six months<br \/>\nWomen should have an annual PAP and pelvic exam<br \/>\nMen should have an annual testicular exam<\/p>\n<p><strong>For Women over\u00a035:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have an annual mammogram<br \/>\nDo a breast self examination monthly<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Everyone from Age 50 up:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have a colonoscopy every 5 &#8211; 10 years<br \/>\nSchedule a yearly skin exam<br \/>\nHave an echocardiogram and stress test as needed<\/p>\n<p><strong>From Age 60 up:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Make sure you have your hearing examined regularly<br \/>\nHave a bone density test<br \/>\nGet regular rectal exams<\/p>\n<p>To keep at your healthy best, we always recommend a regular consultations with your doctor.
