Tulum

Tulum is situated on 39 feet tall cliffs along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea. It has an astonishing tropical beach backdrop, and is the site of a Mayan Observatory, dedicated to the study of the stars. Tulum was one of the last cities built and inhabited by the Maya and managed to survive about 70 years after the Spanish began occupying Mexico.

Tulum had access to both land and sea trade routes, making it an important trade hub, especially for obsidian. From numerous depictions in murals and other works around the site, Tulum appears to have been an important site for the worship of the Diving or Descending god. In Tulum, we will enjoy a swim in the ocean or a siesta on the powder white sand, and, after having walked deep into the ancient world, we will wrap up our journey by connecting to the stars.

This is a wonderful opportunity to recapitulate what you experienced in the previous days, and to bring that awareness to illuminate your own life, your own journey of awareness on Earth, before one day returning to the stars.

Bacalar

Bacalar, the ‘lagoon of the seven colors’, is located near the Belize border. Within the lagoon there are three different cenotes, whose waters overflowed and created this beautiful long mirror of water. It is fed by a 450km underground river that is part of the world´s largest subterranean water cave tunnel system. It contains an extensive structure of modern freshwater stromatolites, dating back 6,000 to 10,000 years.

Currently they only form in some rare preserved places on the planet, and provide us with fundamental information about ancient life on earth.

After a stroll through colonial era town we will swim and then sit to meditate, gazing at the blue and turquoise hues of the Bacalar lagoon. We will also share a dreaming practiceat the Cenote Azul, a small, deep lake with underwater caves. Bacalar comes from the Mayan word Bakhalal, which means “surrounded by reeds”. We will connect with our whole being to the white porous limestone bottom, breathing inthe roaring wind and its pauses in stillness, carefully looking at and inhaling the seven different shades of blue and green running from its shallow to its deep waters, letting in its mystery in order to understand a little more about being human and to celebrate our own journey of consciousness.

Calakmul

Calakmul is one of the oldest Mayan cities hidden inside the jungles of the greater Petén Basin region, next to the border of Guatemala, and site of one of the tallest Mayan temples in Mexico. Calakmul will be the most remote of our destinations, where we will immerse ourselves in the 6,750 ancient structures that have been discovered there, without huge crowds of tourists, a wonderland of more than 800 rain forest plants, monkeys, deer, and hundreds of exotic birds, orchids, butterflies and reptiles.

Calakmul is very old, and was originally called Kaan ‘Kingdom of the Serpent Head’. The city is situated on a promontory formed by a natural 35-meter (115 ft) high limestone dome rising above the surrounding lowlands. This dome was artificially leveled by the Maya. Calakmul itself is estimated to have had a population of 50,000 people and had governance, at times, over places as far away as 150 kilometers.

Its rulers might have been people who evacuated El Mirador, the capital of the ancient Mayan period. It is the largest city of the Late Classic period (AD 600-925), the peak of the Maya’s great accomplishments in architecture, astronomy, writing, painting and sculpture.

Uxmal

Uxmal is one of the sacred destinations of the Mayan world from the classical period, and one of the best preserved sites in Mexico, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the home of the ‘Pyramid of the Magician’, a 115 feet pyramid structure built in the sixth century and believed to have been built under the direct guidance of the magician-god Itzamna.

The structure and the entire sacred part of the Uxmal complex was used in ancient times and is still used today as a mystery school and ceremonial center. We (Aerin and Miles) we have received the gift of a personal connection with ‘La Venerable’, the priestess of Uxmal, who upholds today those sacred teachings and practices of the “Solar Mayan Tradition”. We will quiet our internal dialogue to experience and breathe in Uxmal, and this brings forth a deeply feeling of peace and power that we will harness for our entire journey through the Mayan dream world. We will spend one night at the wonderful Hacienda Uxmal located next to the site.

Chichen Itza

It is one of the most enigmatic legacies of the Mayan civilization. The city is built around a large Cenote believed to be the entrance to the underworld. We will spend two nights at the wonderful 4-star hotel Mayaland located at the site itself, with its own, direct access to the archeological area, which is recognized as one of the wonders of the ancient world.

Chichen Itza is one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico. Intimately linked to the Toltecs in the North, who made it their capital in the year 1000, it contains a large number of buildings, pyramids and specially of note for our journey’s purposes, a strong presence of both Quetzalcoatl, also known as “Kukulcan” the mythical plumed serpent—a key representation for path of heart of warriors, and of ‘chacmools’, or guardians of the ‘second attention’—the dream world. We begin our journey here, where we will practice energy passes and dreaming practices to establish our personal link to the Mayan and Toltec teachings and legacy, to seek guidance and to incorporate a living myth into our own personal lives.

Our Maya Dream journey and workshop beings on November 15, 2020 in Cancun and comes to a completion on November 21 in Cancun.

We will travel first to Chichen Itza and marvel at its sacred buildings, including “El Castillo,” the pyramid and temple of the plumed serpent Kukulcan. After spending two days at Chichen Itza, on our third day we will drive East for two hours to Uxmal, where we will participate of a special ceremony. On our fourth day we will drive to the unfathomable Calakmul, located within the 7,300 km2 Calakmul Biosphere Reserve. It is one of the largest and most powerful ancient cities ever uncovered in the Maya lowlands. We will spend two days there and on our sixth day we will drive to Bacalar, a turquoise and green lagoon located near the Belize border. On our seventh and last day we will drive to Tulum and spend the day swimming and resting at the ocean site before we drop you off at Cancun.

The requirement for maintaining your teacher certification is:

To subscribe to the new video and teaching materials, plus
Participation in at least one cycle of the Path with Heart classes each year (there are three cycles per year).

The purpose of these requirements is to ensure that certified teachers are maintaining their own practice, and also to provide support for the entire Being Energy program.

In the past access to the extensive video library has been free for those who participate in enough course work to keep their teacher certification. The new program is much less expensive than the old one, because the cost of maintaining certification in all three modules is only $228 for two years, while the cost of each module recertification training is $295 (or $885 for three modules). You can also maintain your certification for two years in one module for $95, or in two modules for $190. If you are unable to pay in one payment, please contact Aerin. Your video access includes the entire training course for each module.

The other part of the recertification requirement is to keep participating with us in at least one of the three cycles of Path with Heart per year (many of you are with us in every cycle), or a cycle of Classes for Women. This helps sustain your energetic connection to the group and our work.

Class 1 – Standing up for Yourself. Strengthen your feet and legs and the connection to the floor of the pelvis. Process and heal mental and emotional issues related to belonging and tribal beliefs related to loyalty, honor and justice. Create new beliefs with sustaining home practices.

Class 2 – Honoring your Relationships. Connect with the power of your lower belly and your ability to create. Release sacral and lower back limitations and pain as well as issues related to your menstrual cycles and womb. Process and heal mental and emotional issues related to sex, power, and money creating and incorporating new understandings.

Class 3 – Honoring Yourself. Feel and engage your core muscles in your trunk and how to move from the center of the body, effortlessly. Acknowledge, process and release issues related to self-respect, self-abandoning and personal power to support yourself in self-care and self-empowerment.

Class 4 – Loving Yourself Unconditionally. Learn about the chest and lungs and heal any issues in this area at the physical, mental and emotional levels. Process issues related to Love, Acceptance, Forgiveness and Compassion and embody these qualities in your life.

Class 5 – Speaking up Your Truth. Learn about the throat area, the thyroid glands, and how this affects the rest of your body. Process and heal issues related to your will and self-expression, speaking up, expressing your heart desires with honesty and the choices you make daily.

Class 6 – Seeing Clearly. Engage in exercises for your eyes and for releasing neck and jaw tension. Process and heal issues related to mind, intuition, insight and wisdom, differentiating illusion from reality.

Class 7 – Opening Yourself to the Unknown. Engage in deep meditative states to restore your nervous system and connect to the unseen parts of yourself. Process and heal issues related to meaning and purpose, fears of the unknown and need to control, realizing yourself as part of the evolutionary journey of the cosmos.

Path With Heart XXIX – The Dark Sea of Awareness

This Series emphasizes the Breath as our connection to the Dark Sea of Awareness – this is, according to Seers in Ancient Mexico, the source for consciousness and the fuel for our growth as beings on an evolutionary journey.

Breathing is our life source and our source of consciousness. It is the most accessible, almost tangible, expression of the energy that flows within and through our bodies, and we can redirect that flow of energy by redirecting the breath. A shift in consciousness is a shift in your breathing, and vice-versa. Breathing is the source for recapitulation, for releasing trauma, for creativity, for growth. We look forward to breathe unrestricted, easily and fully.

Path With Heart XXVIII – The Active Side of Infinity

This cycle starts on September 9 and goes through February 17, 2019.

What is the nature of consciousness and where does it take place? The Active Side of Infinity is a term coined by Carlos Castaneda and refers to the field of consciousness where all our actions and all manifestations take place. In other traditions it can be called karma. In Modern science might call it the Higgs field. It is the manifested, active side of the universe that exists everywhere and all at once. It is the basic field that can only be experienced with self-awareness.

In this Cycle we will emphasize a thorough recapitulation of specific past experiences that influenced who we are today, with the purpose of liberating the wisdom and the energy left in those experiences, bringing them to the present moment empowered.

The recapitulation is based in the principle that all memories are embedded within this active field of infinity, stored. They can be accessed, shifted, and brought back to change our present and be completed. The recapitulation will include past events imbued with an awareness of our limited time, our death, in order to bring that mood into the present and help us face new decisions.

To support our practice, during this Cycle we will learn how to apply the Seven Principles of the Art of Stalking to our daily lives.

Mexico 2018 Workshop: Tours

On Saturday Morning we will visit:

MUSEO DEL TEMPLO MAYOR at the ZOCALO from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The entrance fee for the museum is 70 pesos. At the museum we will see a number of impressive pieces. One of the is the monolith of Tlaltecuhtli–the deity that gave birth to life, “the Lord or Lady of the Earth,” a god that was venerated and at the same time feared for devouring all beings once they fulfilled their life cycle. We all live our life cycle, but how do we want to live it? What is our legacy? We will see a Teotihuacan mask, made of an intense green stone, with incrustations of shell and obsidian in eyes and teeth. We will also see an Olmec mask that is the oldest object found so far in the Templo Mayor. These artefacts represent the recovery of the past, a very important activity for Mexica. For us this activity is also about recovering the past and bringing it back to full consciousness without any judgments, then breathing it and letting it go—the evolution of the being and its blossoming in the present.

We will also see the Águila Warriors, and Huehuetéotl, the old god of fire that inhabits the center of the Universe. We will see Coyolxauhqui, the Goddess whose name, according to the myth, means “The one that is adorned with rattles on the cheeks”. She lies dismembered at the base of the Templo Mayor, after her brother Huitzilopochtli threw her down the steps.

All the pieces that we will explore inside this magnificent museum will show us the important elements of our origins, informing us about the Mexica culture in the old Tenochtitlan. In this way we can explore our connection to a lineage that is also ours. We look forward to guiding you through time and through awareness of our own lives, connected to the Mexica spirit.

On Sunday morning we will visit

ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF CUICUILCO from 8:30 to 11:30 am

We will walk in silence and in a state of meditation through the archaeological zone of CUICUILCO. (Preclassical period 800 B.C. to 250 A.D.). It is located in the south end of what was the Texcoco lake, in the south of Mexico City. In Nahuatl “Cuicuilco” means: “Place where songs and dances are made.”

We will connect with our lineage and its wisdom from the place of our own dance and song, from our own living being. We will learn a little about the city as we walk toward its great circular pyramid.

We will discover what unites us with its energy and legacy.

This city was one of the oldest important population centers of the valley of Mexico. It is contemporary to and probably had contact with the Olmec culture on the Gulf coast of Mexico, including Veracruz and Tabasco, an area also known as the Olmec nucleus.

In Cuicuilco a monument was found that perhaps contains the first cosmological presentation of Mesoamerica.

With the eruption of the Xitle Volcano, the city was partially destroyed. The eruption formed a layer of lava that partially or totally covered the architectural structures. The city’s decline began at the start of the second century A.D. There were migrations and resettling of its population, after inhabitants left for other cities in the Mexico basin. Its apogee was the consolidation of Teotihuacán as the governing center of the classic period, thus becoming first great metropolis of Mesoamerica.

The inhabitants of Cuicuilco left behind their homes, their beloved land, everything.

They left their vision of the world. It was necessary to rebuild everything in another place. From a different perspective, based on the analogy of Cuicuilco, starting from what we consider our community and the fixed idea of ourselves and others, we can change all of this in our own evolution. We can rearrange our thinking and our essence to reflect a different reality and flourish again.

Our walk in silence and meditation towards the upper center of the Circular Pyramid of Cuicuilco will connect us with this feeling of evolution and renewal as we continue to explore our legacy.

Столица Анауака была известна как Толлан (Тула на кастильском), а его жители были тольтеки. En Teotihuacán, ubicada a 45 km al noreste de la ciudad de México, el conocimiento espiritual y material del pueblo mesoamericano alcanzó un alto nivel de expresión a través de la arquitectura, el urbanismo y el arte. La ciudad capital de Anahuac era conocida como “Tollan” (“Tula” en castellano) y sus habitantes como toltecas. El Popol Vuh menciona Zuiwa Tollan, que se traduce como “ciudad del abismo”, el abismo que se refiere al otro lado del mundo, la segunda atención. Teotihuacán fue la representación visible de la segunda atención

Teotihuacán fue, en su tiempo, el centro político y religioso más grande y populoso de las Américas. Era, sin duda, una ciudad espléndida y refinada y sus habitantes marcaron hitos en todo tipo de artes y ciencias.

Nadie conoce el origen de Teotihuacán. Ni siquiera los mejores arqueólogos lograron descifrar cómo comenzó su historia. La única certeza es que el corazón del Valle de México tiene una cadena de construcciones monumentales, donde destacan dos enigmáticas y altas pirámides, dedicadas al culto del Sol y la Luna. Su nombre original era Tollan.

La escritura de Teotihuacán se basó en glifos fonéticos e ideográficos que han desafiado la traducción fiable o adecuada, por lo que queda mucho por aprender. La escritura numérica, heredada de los antiguos Olmecas, se basaba en puntos y guiones.

Un ejemplo del alto grado de civilización alcanzado por la cultura tolteca es la arquitectura. Algunos de los edificios prehispánicos más impresionantes del mundo, como la Pirámide del Sol (la segunda estructura más grande de Mesoamérica), la Pirámide de la Luna, y el Templo de Quetzalcóatl, entre otros, están agrupados alrededor de una larga avenida. Esta avenida, que se extiende más allá de 2 km, se conoce como La Calle de los Muertos debido a la gran cantidad de pequeñas pirámides a lo largo de su camino, las cuales los primeros arqueólogos creyeron que eran tumbas. Una interpretación más moderna es que esta avenida representa la Vía Láctea.

About Teotihuacan

In Teotihuacan, located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, the spiritual and material knowledge of the Mesoamerican people reached a high level of expression through architecture, urban planning and art. The capital city of Anahuac was known as Tollan (Tula in Castilian) and its inhabitants as Toltecs. The Popol Vuh mentions Zuiwa Tollan, which translates as “city of the abyss,” the abyss referring to the other side of the world, the second attention. Teotihuacan was the visible representation of the second attention.

Teotihuacan was, in its time, the largest and most populous political and religious center of the Americas. It was, without a doubt, a splendid and refined city, and its inhabitants made milestones in all manner of arts and sciences.

Nobody knows Teotihuacan’s origin. Not even the best archaeologists know how her story began. The only certainty is that the heart of the Valley of Mexico has a string of monumental constructions, where two enigmatic and high pyramids stand out, dedicated to the worship of the Sun and the Moon. Their original name was Tollan.

Teotihuacan’s writing was based on phonetic and ideographic glyphs, which have defied reliable or adequate translation; much remains to be learned. The numerical writing, inherited from the earlier Olmecs, was based on dots and dashes.

A crowning example of the high degree of civilization reached by the Toltec culture is architectural—some of the most impressive pre-Hispanic buildings in the world, like the Pyramid of the Sun (the second largest structure in Mesoamerica), the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Temple of Quetzalcoatl among others, are all clustered around a long avenue. This avenue, extending beyond 2 km, is known as The Street of the Dead because of the large number of small pyramids along its path, which early archaeologists believed were tombs. A more modern interpretation is that this avenue represents the Milky Way.

A number of palaces, like the one for Quetzalpapalotl, and several well-preserved murals recount in a very refined and beautiful way the worldview of this culture.

Teotihuacan did not disappear mysteriously. Instead, it was carefully dismantled, its buildings sealed and then abandoned around the year 530 AD. Then, it was reoccupied by immigrants for another two centuries until a great fire marked its final end.

The intent of the ancient seers, who lived in what is now called Mexico, ensure that Teotihuacan still remains a center of power today, to which visitors flock every year. The power of Teotihuacan is still strong.
