The Pursuit of Freedom: A Warriors' Query

One of the strongest tenets in the world of seers, as I learn from my teacher, is the quest for freedom. So evocative, so inspiring! Uttering its name rallies one’s spirit to soar, to advance. Whenever I saw Castaneda speak of this, his eyes shone brighter, as if the white of his eyes would become bigger. I love reading about it, I love feeling the feeling of freedom.

This is one my all time favorite quotes of the nagual:

“To seek freedom is the only driving force I know. Freedom to fly off into that infinity out there. Freedom to dissolve; to lift off; to be like the flame of a candle, which, in spite of being up against the light of a billion stars, remains intact, because it never pretended to be more than what it is: a mere candle.”

Freedom is a dreamt word. In this context, it implies that the meaning of it changes according to the frame of mind of the one who thinks of it. It means many things, at many layers. In my teachers tradition, it meant to remove the constraints we have placed on perception, to be free to perceive as it is our birthright and our nature as organisms.

Sometimes one can draw inspiration for freedom from unexpected places. An impactful experience can put us in touch with the conditions, the parameters for freedom, ease, confidence, wonder and inner silence. Here is one such story, as a journal entry, in audio form.
